Information notice on the use of cookies

ModaImpresa S.r.l. uses cookies and similar techniques to improve our websites and online services to you. This document contains detailed information about the use of cookies and similar techniques, how they are used by ModaImpresa and how to deal with them. Any further information can be obtained from the Privacy Authority website on the base of provisions of the document “Simplified Arrangements to Provide Information and Obtain Consent Regarding Cookies – 8 may 2014” (Published in the Official Journal of the Italian Republic n. 126, June 3 2014) which outlines how cookies should be configured as well as the conditions of use.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files (letters and/or numbers) which allow the web server to store on the client (the browser) information that can be used during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or at a later time, even some days after (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored by your browser on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) according to user’s preference.

Similar technologies, such as web beacon, clear GIFs and all the other forms of locale storage, introduced with HTML5 can be used to store information on user behaviour and on the use of service.

Hereinafter cookies and similar technologies will all be called as “cookies”.

Kind of cookies

According to the characteristics and the use, various categories of cookies can be distinguished:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the website and they are used to handle the login and the access to the website reserved areas. The duration of the cookies is strictly limited to the work session time (when the browser is closed, session cookies expire), except for those websites where cookies with longer duration are used (in any case the cookies expire within 30 days). This kind of cookies recognize the user’s computer, just for a period of 30 days, through an alfa-numeric code that is generated at the first access session, re-proposing the result of test carried out by the user. The deactivation of the cookies compromises the use of the services accessible by log-in.

  • Analytics cookies. This kind of cookies is used to create reports and analyse anonymously the use of our website. These cookies, for example, enable to detect when the same user connects at different times without identifying him. Moreover, they enable to monitor the system and to optimize its performances and its usability. These cookies can be deactivated without loss of functionality.

  • Profiling cookies. They are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user’s preferences and to improve his browsing.

Third Party Cookies

When you visit a website you can receive cookies from both the website itself (owner) and from other website (third party). An example of this situation is the presence of the “social plugin” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. The “social plugin” are directly generated from the third party and are integrated in the webpage of the host website. The “social plugin” are commonly used to share content on social network.

The existence of these plugin entails the transmission of the cookies to and from other websites operated by third party. The management of the information collected by “third parties” is regulated by specific policies you are kindly asked to refer to. In order to ensure greater transparency, the web addresses of the specific policies and of the cookies management are listed below:

Google Analytics

Websites also include some data transmitted by Google Analytics, a service offered by Google Inc. that analyses the web traffic. This is an example of third party cookies that are anonymously collected and managed with the purpose to monitor and to improve the host website performance (performance cookies).

Google Analytics uses cookies to anonymously collect and to analyse information on the website users’ behaviour (user’s IP address included). The data are collected by Google Analytics that processes them in order to compile reports on website activities for ModaImpresa operators.

This website does not use (nor allows third party to use it) Google Analytics to monitor or to collect personal identification data. Google does not link IP address with any other data it already owns, nor try to match IP address with any user’s identity. Google has to transmit these data to third party if law requires it or if these third party process these data on behalf of Google.

For further information, you can see at the following web address:

User can selectively block the activity of Google Analytics by installing on his own browser the opt-out component provided by Google. To block the activity of Google Analytics you can see at the following web address:

Cookies lifetime

Some kind of cookies (session cookies) remains active until browser is closed or until user logs out. Other kind of cookies can “survive” when the browser is closed and they remain available in case the user visits the site again.

This latter kind of cookies is called “persistent cookies” and their lifetime is fixed by the server when it generates them. Sometime an expire date is fixed, otherwise the duration in unlimited.

Anyway, when browsing on various websites pages, the user can interface with websites manged by third party who can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.

Cookies management

User can decide whether accept cookies or not by modifying the browser settings.

Warning: total or partial cookies disablement could compromise the use of website functionality dedicated to registered users. On the contrary, public content are usable even if the cookies are fully disabled.

The third party cookies disabling does not prejudice the navigability of the website.

The setting can be defined in specific way for each website or web application. Moreover, the best browsers can define different settings for “owner cookies” or for “third party cookies”.

A titolo di esempio, in Firefox, attraverso il menu Strumenti->Opzioni ->Privacy, è possibile accedere ad un pannello di controllo dove è possibile definire se accettare o meno i diversi tipi di cookie e procedere alla loro rimozione.
